Story of Recovery: Kim

Hi, my name is Kim and I'm a recovering fundamentalist. I was raised in an evangelical, fundamentalist household. I was sent to a private fundamentalist school from K-8 that was part of the racist British Israelism movement. My parents used to go to the church affiliated with that school, but stopped going there when the church started to preach British Israelism - not because of the racism, but because my parents didn't want to give up pork and shellfish (the church taught that one needed to follow the OT food laws). ! That school only went to 8th grade (it now goes to 12th grade). My parents sent me to a Baptist school in 9th grade. I was MISERABLE and begged my parents to let me go to public school. Finally, in 10th grade they relented. Thanks for letting me share my story. I'm glad to find your page.
